The Warminster Annual Sky Watch
Cradle Hill was the place in the UK to sky watch in the 1960's and 1970's. If you were interested in UFO's this was the only place to visit. Many people came away from the hill convinced they had seen something unearthly.
Now in the new millennium a core of researchers once again meet on the Hill.
Weird 10 gives you the chance to participate in one of the legendary sky watches in the UK and to meet the investigators and researchers of the Warminster 'Thing'.
The sky watch is free, we just need to know you're coming as we have to inform the Army. The watch begins at 8pm at the top of Cradle Hill, Warminster. On reaching the top of the hill you will be directed to the parking area. The watch will end in the early hours of the morning.
As the watch is an outdoor activity and subject to British weather we suggest you wear sensible footwear and have access to warm/waterproof clothing. It does get cold on top of the hill and it could rain. Something to eat and a hot flask are also recommended. You are encouraged to bring along a torch, video or still recording equipment and a pair of binoculars.
Please Note: The releasing of 'UFO lanterns' is forbidden during the watch.
Sky watch meeting place is marked on the map below by point 'B'.
